Prophetic Predictions???

Are these statements really Prophetic Predictions?

We have heard prophetic predictions over the years but this is one prediction of what the world and Christian Culture would look like in the 20th century.  Right now we are able to measure this prophetic statement as we have entered the 21st century.  Toward the end of his life, William Booth (1829-1912) Founder of Salvation Army made the statement,

“In answer to your inquiry, I consider that the chief dangers which confront the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and heaven without hell.”

Let’s go through these statements:

  1. Religion without the Holy Spirit? Yep! (2 Timothy 3:5 “deny the power”
  2. Christianity without Christ? Yep!
  3. Forgiveness without repentance? Yep, just pray this prayer!
  4. Salvation without regeneration? Yep, all through each congregation!
  5. Politics without God?  Yep, should I say more????
  6. Heaven without Hell? Yep, sadly true concerns and statements including well known theologians denying the reality of hell.

So if these six things prophetic statements are true of the church today, where do we go from here?  This goes beyond any denomination and speaks to the individual church doesn’t it?  As leaders this goes to how we lead, teach, preach and disciple, it goes to our hearts.  Is there transformation or are we conforming to a religious culture denying the power of God?  Something to wrestle with, isn’t it?
